Five Elements Hostel

The staff was friendly and the pricing was great. Facilities were a bit lackluster, as the toilet was sometimes flooded and the shower was a bit janky. But all that was trifle, really. The only actual bad thing was the location, as others have mentioned. I'd like to say that it really looks worse than it is - I was never accosted, and I walked around at midnight etc. People keep to themselves - don't go looking for trouble and you'll be fine :) I'm a tall man though, so maybe different for some.

Great, but the breakfast is not really worth the 6 euros

Don't take my review as gospel but we went back to the train station and went to nurmberg because the streets around the hostel and where the hostel is was full of folk shooting up, human excrement, and loads of shadey characters. We researched more after and found the hostel itself is meant to be very clean, comfy and safe inside, but outside was definitely nor safe. Not the hostels fault, just a big problem that area in frankfurt struggles with.

Best place to stay in Frankfurt am Main. Very convenient location to the main train station (5 minute walk) and then the S-Bahn train to the airport.

DO NOT GO HERE AS A SOLO FEMALE TRAVELLER. i know the hostel warns about the location but it is so much worse than i could have expected. at 8:30 in the morning after i arrived i stood right outside the hostel to have a smoke and was approached instantly by three druggie men asking me if i’m alone, how long i’m staying and where i’m staying. i obviously lied and said i wasn’t staying at the hostel and then had to do a loop of the block to get away from them. on my loop of the block i had another man approach me saying you me hotel sex and then offered me drugs aswell. the whole area is absolutely filled with crackheads i have never felt so unsafe. i only left the hostel to go to the shops because i was so scared and even in doing that was cat called and stopped multiple times. the actual hostel itself was not bad but the crackheads living on the street ruin it. Cannot express how much i would not recommend going here

es un buen sitio, pero está en una zona repleta de p**ticlubs, y*nkies, etc etc. Literalmente habia gente fumando cr*ck en la puerta del hostal. A mi personalmente eso me arruino bastante la experiencia en Frankfurt y no mr senti muy seguro.

First things first, this hostel is quite nice, clean, nice common areas, decent kitchen with everything needed for a simple meal, super friendly staff and a good atmosphere in general. That being said, the area as many other reviews say is pretty awful. I thought, you only have to walk two blocks from the station, how bad can it be? It's not the worst but you definitely feel uneasy. A lot of drug usage in plain sight, homeless people, broken glass everywhere and I could keep going. The good part is, in my experience, everyone was doing their own thing and didn't disturb you, but I felt quite unsafe. If you choose this hostel I would recommend not looking at anyone, mind your own business, ignore if they talk to you and try to not leave the hostel alone (you will surely make some friends there).

The hostel is quite awesome despite its location, but to be honest the neighborhood is not as scary as most comments reflect : it is indeed a junkie street so I wouldn’t recommend you to be out there at night but during the day there not a lot to worry about since it’s a pretty dynamic place (nearby the train station).

The hostel was really great and very safe, despite the sensitive area we were witness from the lounge windows. But the hostel was so close from Hauptbahnbof. And police was constantly present in the streets. Well I did fell unsecure at any moment inside the hostel. Staff was just wonderful. Moreover: coffee and tea free, pancakes party. I had a excellent 3 beds dorm. Noisy during the night because of the very odd neighbourhood.

The hostel is located in the red light district. The location is just terrible, I was literally scared of going out, and I was raised in South America. You can see people over the window smoking crack while you are having breakfast. The staff was friendly but the location is just shocking.

Solid hostel with nice and spacious private rooms and all facilities you need. The location is unfortunately in the middle of the so called „Bahnhofsviertel“ which on one hand means it’s close to the central station, but it’s also known as the worst drug addict area in all of Germany. Be aware of that when booking. The hostel itself has a lot of measures in place to make you feel safe there though.

The hostel is very close of the main station and it’s a very dangerous area. I didn’t feel safe to leave the hostel. Too many drugs people on the streets. I would recommend stay near of the old city.

Too much noise outdoors, no air conditioning which makes it difficult to keep the room cool enough to sleep without having the windows open. Because it is in the red light district, it is too loud to sleep if the windows are open. Bathrooms are dirty and drains back up quickly, limiting showers to two minutes. Great people and atmosphere though.

La zona di questo ostello è davvero terribile, ma a parte questo, la posizione non è male e nei dormitori si sta bene. I servizi igienici sono puliti e la sera, nello spazio comune, c’è un clima davvero bello con cui passare il tempo bevendo qualcosa dal bar

Hostel was very nice! The location is a bit cracky tho.... you have to be able to handle the fact that the sreets are filled with homeless addicts and such.... would go on the street alone as a woman but other than that I haven't felt extremely unsafe. Good price for what you get. Staff is friendly, beer is cheap
