Five Elements Hostel

L'hôtel est très proche de la gare et le personnel très bienveillant. En effet la rue de l'hôtel est mal fréquentée mais une fois rentré dans l'hôtel, on se sent en sécurité. Merci encore pour l'accueil !

The hostel was decent but was in a horrible location. The staff had great safety measures and were really nice, but it’s located in the central places were a lot of homeless people, drug dealers and drug users are about. As a solo traveller it can be really sketchy walking by yourself in the day and especially at night to the hostel. The hostel itself was quite nice, I caught up with a friend who lives near this city so I didn’t use the bar, but it seemed very safe and nice. The rooms were decent and comfortable enough. I wouldn’t recommend this hostel for solo travellers just based on the location, although the staff and hostel were super helpful and had good safety and security measures, it might be safer to try other locations in the city

Nice facility and nice people working there. Good vibe each evening in the common area. Yeah the area outside of the hostel is full of junkies, but it’s like any city in America (sad) so if you’re American you can handle it.

Great Hostel. Nevertheless, its located in the redlight district of Frankfurt, which is why its quite loud outside at night. At least during the weekend

Pretty good hostel all round. Location (the red light district, which we were warned about in advance) is quite difficult a place to be. Lots of drug use in the street etc. Hostel felt pretty safe/security was good, and to be fair I didn’t get any hassle outside (though I am a guy and big-ish), but a bit hard walking through the area each day.

Quite the horror. Please stay away. The beds creek so you can’t sleep. Too noisy. Too dingy. Just a bad and unsafe experience. The reception people are somewhat nice. But doesn’t make up for the horror of the whole place. Also overpriced for what you get. Breakfast not included. Also there was just bananas, cereal and some stale fruits for €6.50-not what you see in the pictures.

The hostel is in the middle of Frankfurt’s red district and as a result, the streets are lined with junkies! I would really recommend being careful, especially as a women on your own, if booking here. The hostel itself had a positive atmosphere. The only feedback I’d suggest is removing the minimum limit for card use at the hostel. On a street like that I don’t particularly want to be walking around with a lot of cash, which seems a little short sighted from the hostel.

Property was great, all facilities were good and security and staff were both really good. Just do some research on the location of the hostel before you book so you don’t get a shock.

This hostel is in a suuuper sketchy area! I came by myself and absolutely did not feel safe, I’m glad my train came in before the sun set because I would not have wanted to walk around outside after dark. The staff were lovely and the facilities were good (besides no air con), but I definitely would not stay here again & would not recommend if you’re traveling solo

This hostel is in a horrible location. It is on the worst block in the city. If you walk a couple of streets in either direction, it's fine. If you're a female traveller, I would say to avoid this hostel. The beds are also super loud and make lots of noise whenever you move. The upside is that the staff are really lovely and there's some good common spaces to hang out.

My first solo trip and the stay was at this hostel. The staff was very friendly and helpful and knew English so there wasn’t difficulty in communication. You can get the padlock and towel by paying some deposit which you get back on checkout. Overall the room was nice and the bunk bed was nice with fresh sheets and covers provided for the stay. Breakfast had good options. They provide free tea and coffee throughout the day which is very good. The only thing was that they told after I booked that it’s on red light district which location wise isn’t really impressive as the street is very dirty. But overall, very impressed with their service and stay. For solo travellers who wanna enjoy their trip without spending huge chunk on accommodation, it’s definitely a place to stay

Gets the job done. Although they do warn you it can be a little eye opening to be in the red light district especially when you come from somewhere that does not have that culture. That being said the establishment does a great job with security and not once did myself or my travel companion feel unsafe in the area.
