Five Elements Hostel

No ac in the room, was a hot nights sleep. Location is wild but due to that the hostel guests seems much more friendly and approachable to other guests. Close to the train station and the building itself feels quiet safe.

A great stay, in a central location with a great vibe! The staff were very friendly and prompt and the facilities are open and inviting!

It was the absolute worst hostel experience I have ever had. Starting with being in the worst street of the city, full of d*** addicts and dealers, and other human specimens that make you feel very unsafe. I spent the first night there as I had arrived late, but I couldn't stay the other 3 nights I had booked (and of course, didn't get refund). Then, the hostel was so dirty: dust everywhere, cockroaches in the room, dishes and fridges dirty, and even the food at breakfast looked bad! TO AVOID!!!

There is no air circulation in the rooms so it smells like the inside of a stinky sneaker. The bathroom smells so strong of mildew I was gagging. It’s very old school hostel if you want that. If you want anything better don’t pick this place. It’s clean but the air isn’t. Had to make my bed on the top bunk while the person under me slept, in the dark stinky room. No place to put your stuff in the room but the floor. Bathroom shower stalls are only separated by a foggy piece of glass can still see through it. Like I said it’s old school hostel dorm room shower together sleep in a smelly damp room together kind of place. Check in was efficient and kind. Social room downstairs is nice. Seems secure.

Wonderful stay. Staff were extremely helpful when we had a problematic roommate and were genuinely just happy nice people to be around. :) Only issue would be the location of the hostel being next to the Red Light District, but considering Frankfurt, and the abundance of security, it isn't a major issue. Showers were one of the best I've ever experienced! Can't recommend those enough!

I absolutely loved this hostel. The atmosphere and events such as dinner nights are great and so much fun. I love the location and the proximity to so many bars!

Really good hostel. Breakfast is amazing. Staff are so helpful. Lots of free activities in the nighttime - beer tastings, pasta dinners. Lots of bathrooms. Extensive bar options and pizza available. Very comfortable beds.

Overall I found the experience unenjoyable. The staff were helpful and kind, but the location and facilities left much to be desired. The surrounding area has a large amount of addicts and dealers, and is in the center of a considerably seedy red light district. We never felt explicitly unsafe, but definitely wouldn’t want to find myself alone, female, nor lost in this area of town. The rooms were okay, but the bathrooms and laundry facilities were generally very dirty. Has a nice bar and social area, if you’re into that. It wasn’t overwhelmingly bad, but not worth saving an extra twenty Euros per night.

Great hostel, but the location isn’t the best. The hostel is safe & did not feel at all unsafe but I wouldn’t walk back to late

This area is red light area so I would not suggest anyone to stay in this hostel.
