Sunflower Hostel

Solo female traveler review: I loved my stay at sunflower hostel the design is very cute and my room was clean/bed was comfortable although terribly squeaky which isn’t a huge deal but gets very annoying. The room had a huge trunk for your personals which was amazing I didn’t need to have anything lying out and although I’m not very social the people staying at the hostel are. I thought it was well located you’re very close to buses/trains and a mall I’d definitely recommend staying!

Lgbtqia+ friendly, great vibe, has a great bar at reception. The room I was in was outside of wifi range which sucked as a foreigner, but the double size pod my fiance and I booked was delightful, and the aesthetic was immaculate. The staff were mostly nice, but I imagine as an American I am very biased by the customer service culture there. All I will say is they were accommodating and pretty patient with me. The location is heavily reliant on transportation to see most attractions in the area. Plan around that. I would absolutely visit again.

Was not clean, not enough bathrooms (only one for one dorm in the whole floor), was locked out of the room due to the key not giving me access anymore and couldn't go anywhere, too much light pollution, they take a fee (or deposit) for EVERYTHING, people coming and going all night, and due to the guests needing to make their own beds and undo it and bring the linenes back down to get the deposit back, this causes a lot of disturbance. Uncomfortable room with stuffy air. Can’t recommend.

I've been here multiple times and always had a great experience :).Compared to other hostels in berlin this one feels very authentic. Fair prices, friendly staff, mostly clean facilities and rooms. (Book on their website for the best price)

Worst rooms i've ever seen they were dirty, the blankets were full of bloodstains, in every corner was dirt. The Room-Service did nothing but take our Pfand. Not even the Trash bins were emptied. In the night everybody was smoking in front of the hostel und hearing loud music so sleeping was very difficult. The Showers were full of bodyhair, some toilet doors didnt work properly. The whole floor smelled like chloride. Overall a very bad expirience wouldnt go there anytime.

a nice hostel well located !

Staff was very friendly and made me feel welcomed. Prime location at a good price. Only downside is my room didn't have enough outlets but other than that I completely recommend it

STAY AWAY! The beds creak all night LOUDLY. They are ancient and haven’t been replaced ever. Forget snoring, the slightest shift of anyone creates a horror movie sized shriek. YOU WILL WAKE UP THE NEXT DAY TIRED EVERYDAY. You will not get sleep. You will not get rest. Even my noise cancelling headphones didn’t work because the squeaking is so high pitched. Do not stay here.

Very cheap and interesting. Bed is confortable. Towel not included. No luggage room but 2€ lockers available. Very close to Warschauerstrasse if you like to party. Overal good vibe

The hostel was very clean, I stayed in the all girls dorm with 6 beds and it was great, the staff was nice and available for everyone, there is a nice party vibe at night but from the rooms you can’t hear it so it really is on you how you wanna spend your nights, for my dorm there was a kitchen and fridge available, overall an awesome stay :)

la ubicación del hostel no nos gustó , no nos pareció cómoda ni segura para caminar desde la estación de tren 900 m hasta el hostel entre parques, poca luz y sin servicios alrededor. Las literas de las habitaciones compartidas eran una tortura , incomoda, ruidosas. y el hostel en si para llegar a las habitaciones era un auténtico laberinto. no nos gustó la ubicación ni la zona donde estaba el hostel

The nicest hostel! Such friendly staff and super helpful. A super buzzing vibe, everyone who was staying was so lovely and friendly. Hostel is a bit out of the centre but it’s a great area, lots of good bars, coffee shops and gorgeous architecture (much nicer than the centre in my opinion).

This hostel is my favorite in Berlin for sure, the vibes are always nice and great lovely people, best location for going to the greatest club in Berlin ;) or at least trying to. Also right next to the wall. In general I would say the best area in Berlin, the nearest station warschuer strasse is super fun and constantly having people playing music around. One time I did get my luggage stolen in this hostel, but I would say a big part of it was my fault (left in down storage with no lock) lol

Location is amazing if you want to experience the nightlife in Berlin. Staff was pretty nice. Rooms were clean but beds super squeaky and showers a bit dirty.

Leuk, gezellig hostel! Leuke inrichting, fijn personeel die je helpt met het inchecken. Ik had een mooie ruime, losse tweepersoonskamer. Dat was echt perfect. Wellicht tot een volgende keer! Georgette uit Nederland.

convenient location with supermarkets, a shopping mall, and restaurants nearby. I stayed in a capsule, nice and quiet, the only bad thing was that the ventilation didn't do much.

A really amazing hostel in Berlin. If you want to go clubbing and want to be around friedrichshain and Kreuzberg this is the place to stay! The bar down stairs is really great to meet people, the showers were pretty good and were always warm and it was super clean. Staff also helped my friend lend some black shoes to get into Kikat! Amazing place.

Many thanks for helping us organize accommodation for 12 people at once – everything went super smoothly with clear information at every step. Great breakfast option at an amazing price, as well as the bar offer. Rooms were more than sufficient, clean and comfortable. Perfect location – close to everything and very well connected. Stayed here for about a week and booked a small private room to myself. The room was clean, comfortable, and fairly quiet (as quiet as a room can be when it’s on the street). Staff was friendly and helpful. Coffee & tea available 24/7 for 1€ . Some tours were offered, and others posted. Other guests were a bit social and all super friendly.

Sunflower hostel is a great hostel in eastern Berlin in the heart of the techno area. Along with good access to the Berlin Wall and museum island. The all you can eat breakfast is decent by European standards and the rooms are clean and comfty. The biggest issues are: -You will hear techno music late into the night on weekends because it so close to berg - while the staff is friendly they seem overwhelmed quite a bit and are in able to help everyone when needed

This was an okay hostel. Not so social. The beds were awful. I have never in my life slept in a bed that is so squeaky and makes so much noise. You will wake up both in the mornings and nights from people moving in these terrible beds

This is the best hostel that I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Throughout the week, I met many incredible people that I hope will become lifelong friends. Thank you to all the staff members at Sunflower Hostel, as I know this was only possible because of you. Cheers!

Location is great, staff were helpful, & they have lots of amenities. There's also lots of people so it's also great if you're solo & want to make some friends. It can be a bit noisy at night with people going out, but its a hostel in berlin, so just pack some earplugs :) The rooms are spacious and comfortable, & I never had to wait for a shower or toilet to be free. It could have been a bit cleaner in the common area & the bathrooms, but it's a big hostel. All in all great value for your money.

This hostel is good value for money. The staff are always helpful. The reception area has a dive bar vibes and it is close to a major metro junction but just tucked in enough that it is not too noisy from the streets. It is close to cheap food places and good clubs and music. Definitely worth returning to.

Absolutely wonderful place. The security is 4€ for 12 hours but works good. Dorms are very nice and clean. The location is great there is a popular street nearby with tons of shops and obviously next to some of the world’s best clubs. I found the atmosphere very positive especially around the bar area. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Would stay again.

Helpful staff and clean sheets/towels. The hostel had good vibes and I felt safe as a solo female traveler. I stayed in a 6-bed female room which was decent for the price (when booking ahead- to extend my stay by 1 night more would have cost double the original price). There is a big space under the bed that fit my backpacks and could be locked. The bunks were metal and very loud and creeky, with no curtains, but otherwise fine! They each have an outlet and light. The bathroom situation was not ideal, with there only being 1 toilet and shower (in the same bathroom so you cannot use the restroom if someone is in the shower), so one big improvement would be some mirrors in the room so others can at least get ready when the bathroom is occupied. Only a 6ish minute walk from the metro station. If I was staying in Friedrichshain, I would stay here again.

Excellent place to stay—cheap, vibrant, easy to work with, lots of personality

location is not near all of the main tourist attractions and museums, but you can get there pretty easily with about a 10min walk to the station. definitely had a night life culture since it’s near all the big clubs, but a lot of people also go out during the day! very social and easy to meet people!!

Good vibes, no kitchen and lockers don’t fit a regular carry on sized bag which was a little disappointing. Very social though and overall had a good stay

For the price this hostel is great. I stayed in one of the private pods and was basically like being in a mini hotel room. Only negatives would be the late check in (4pm) and the €15 minimum card spend at the bar, not great if you only want a beer. Overall for how cheap it was I was very very happy. (Btw if you do stay here go to “Holzmarkt 25” it’s a 15 minute walk, trust me it’s a good vibe.

adequately clean, but overall pretty amazing stay. its super close to some good clubs and bars and the atmosphere is really social and nice even for someone like me who’s a bit introverted. breakfast was delish also. definitely worth it

I stayed 3 nights here at the Sunflower hostel and loved every moment of it. Clean facilities, clean and comfortable bed, and a great environment. The staff were all very kind and accommodating, and answered my questions about Berlin and the local area very well. Many younger people can be found in the lounge and it was easy to meet new people. People of all walks of life are welcomed here. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the nearest train station, with lots of food and entertainment options available nearby. Would definitely suggest this hostel to anyone in the area.

A great hostel. It's clean and most of the staff were very nice and helpful. Also the breakfest was really good, I just wish there was a kitchen.

The staff and location were great. My main concerns were with the facilities. I had booked what I thought was a private room, but upon arrival I was given a capsule, which is essentially like sleeping in a box within a shared room of about eight people. It wasn’t terrible, but I do wish the website had been clearer, as the listing makes it seem more like a private suite. The biggest issue, however, was the bathroom. The shower and drain design caused water to spread across the entire floor, taking a long time to drain and leaving behind a musty, mold-like smell. This made the bathroom quite unpleasant to use.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a 4 bed dorm. Rooms were clean and spacious with lockers available, staff were friendly and helpful.

Super social hostel really easy to meet people, beds were comfortable and location is great

Check in at 4 pm. Check out at 11 am. Some rooms dirty. (In room 109 you can see a big spider web) Simple toilets with toilet paper and nothing else (shower gel would be nice) Key card, 6 euro deposit. Bed linen provide at reception. You need to bring it back at the reception. It means you are doing the bed too. (Soon they' ll ask to do the cleaning and the dishes, soon) Breakfast 6 euro all you can eat incluted a coffee, from 8 to 12.
