I stayed 3 nights here at the Sunflower hostel and loved every moment of it. Clean facilities, clean and comfortable bed, and a great environment. The staff were all very kind and accommodating, and answered my questions about Berlin and the local area very well. Many younger people can be found in the lounge and it was easy to meet new people. People of all walks of life are welcomed here. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the nearest train station, with lots of food and entertainment options available nearby. Would definitely suggest this hostel to anyone in the area.

A great hostel. It's clean and most of the staff were very nice and helpful. Also the breakfest was really good, I just wish there was a kitchen.

The staff and location were great. My main concerns were with the facilities. I had booked what I thought was a private room, but upon arrival I was given a capsule, which is essentially like sleeping in a box within a shared room of about eight people. It wasn’t terrible, but I do wish the website had been clearer, as the listing makes it seem more like a private suite. The biggest issue, however, was the bathroom. The shower and drain design caused water to spread across the entire floor, taking a long time to drain and leaving behind a musty, mold-like smell. This made the bathroom quite unpleasant to use.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a 4 bed dorm. Rooms were clean and spacious with lockers available, staff were friendly and helpful.

Check in at 4 pm. Check out at 11 am. Some rooms dirty. (In room 109 you can see a big spider web) Simple toilets with toilet paper and nothing else (shower gel would be nice) Key card, 6 euro deposit. Bed linen provide at reception. You need to bring it back at the reception. It means you are doing the bed too. (Soon they' ll ask to do the cleaning and the dishes, soon) Breakfast 6 euro all you can eat incluted a coffee, from 8 to 12.

Our stay at Sunflower Hostel in Berlin was mixed. The location is one of its main strengths, as it’s close to the city’s clubs, attractions, and has easy access to trams and train stations. There are plenty of affordable food options nearby, which made eating out convenient. However, while the location was practical, the surrounding neighborhood sometimes felt unsafe due to visible anti-social behavior, which made me uncomfortable to go out at night by myself to grab food etc. The hostel itself had a lively, social atmosphere, particularly in the common areas and outdoor spaces. Cheap drinks at the bar also made it easy to meet other travelers, though the vibe often felt more shaped by the guests than by the staff. Staff interactions were inconsistent, some were friendly and helpful, while others seemed unhappy. There was a few social activities through the hostel but nothing each night to meet people. The four-person pod room we stayed in came with several downsides. Wi-Fi did not reach our room at the end of the corridor, and the pod itself was hot, forcing us to keep the door open at night. One cleaner also behaved unprofessionally, slamming doors and swearing while stripping beds, which made the stay feel uncomfortable. Bathrooms: there weren’t enough for the number of guests, they weren’t always clean, and some flooded due to poor design or maintenance. Other inconveniences included a late 4 p.m. check-in, bar closures during staff changeovers during a busy evening, expensive laundry facilities with limited machines, and steep charges for lockers. Card payments at the bar were only accepted over €15. Overall, Sunflower Hostel offers a good base for those wanting to be close to nightlife and enjoy a social environment.

When we checked in the weirdly snobby clerk informed us that we had rented a capsule, not a private room. We weren’t upset, just surprised, but they went on to defensively berate us for not knowing. The truth was, this wasn’t clearly marked online - but we didn’t even say this. I think this actually spoke to the face that most people, when faced with the capsule, are disappointed. The capsule is like sleeping in a fridge laid on its side, or like sleeping in a double coffin. It is, as I presumed, extremely creepy and claustrophobic. It feels against all human nature. It was genuinely worse than just being in the cheaper normal bunk I think. But the fact that it’s advertised as semi private and a step up from the bunk is absurd. Also FWIW the bathroom was totally filthy. Not just once but like it’s never cleaned. It stunk of mold and felt gross to be in. There’s no reason why a shower can’t be kept a bit clean, even in a hostel. It was much dirtier than a gym or the shower of other hostels. We ended up forfeiting a night and leaving early. It was a really bad experience. The two stars are because the rooms are decently clean.

The location of the hostel isn't amazing in my opinion. I had a hard time in Berlin with a lot of rude people so I was trying to treat this stay as a time to relax in the room sometimes but the bed was so incredibly loud that any little movement would make an obnoxious noise. Anytime I had to get something out from the storage area under the bed it was loud. I couldn't get a proper nights rest. I didn't like that we all shared one key for one room when I didn't know anyone else there.

Very value for money, very cheap, very clean, very spacious, very good activities, with great amenities and also very kind and helping reception! Great breakfast and common spaces as well. Possibly one of the best if not the best Hostel I have stayed in so far. Thank you for giving me an amazing stay in Berlin!

Sunflower Hostel has a great location near Berlin’s nightlife and transport, with cheap bar drinks and a lively atmosphere driven by guests. However, the area felt unsafe at times, staff were mixed, and facilities were lacking—Wi-Fi didn’t reach rooms, bathrooms were limited and often dirty or flooded, rooms were hot, and extras like lockers and laundry were pricey. Good for location and nightlife, but not for comfort.

Absolutely loved this hostel. The perfect place to stay if your interested in the nightlife scene in Berlin. So easy to make friends and find people to go out with. But even better was that the rooms were quiet(apart from a very creaky bed) and clean and the hostel is not a party hostel at all. Would highly recommend.

Really great location to go check out nightlife clubs that are nearby, and really cool chill neighborhood. Not the cleanest hostel i’ve stayed at but not the grossest either, just ok. I’d say if going to the clubs is your goal in berlin stay here because the people are great and have the same goal. If you’re going to sightsee and don’t care for club life, then maybe somewhere else would be better.

People just stay here to sleep after clubbing, so the atmosphere is not so sociable. If you are planning to do a sightseeing trip to Berlin, this in NOT the place. Beds and locker are so noisy and the old bunk beds make it really difficult to sleep, specially if your roommates come back really late at night. I meet 3 different couples of roommates in 4 days cause they mainly book one/tow night to have a spot after clubbing.SO IF YOUR AIM IS TO LIVE BERLIN NIGHT LIFE THIS IS THE SPOT OTHERWISE NO

Good facilites and decent bar to sit and drink at the hostel. Location was also great. Unfortunately the beds in the 4 person dorm room I was staying in were INCREDIBLY CREAKY. So creaky that it would cause me to wake when other people moved in their beds. Rooms were also stuffy and could use some fans in them for summer.

Great place, super fun, clean, wonderful staff. Only negative is the beds are really squeaky and no privacy curtain. Try to get a bottom bunk.

Cool sociable hostel in a really nice location and neighbourhood.

I liked my stay at Sunflower- good location, fairly social, friendly staff. Couple notes: The beds were SO creaky! Probably the cheapest metal bunk beds one could find, which is fine, but for a city known for its nightlife I would rather not wake up the whole room coming back (or be woken up). Cleanliness left a bit to be desired, I would suggest bringing shower shoes. It would also be nice to have some more structured events/games during the evenings to meet other travelers.

Just amazing! ???? It's really well centered, the staff is really nice, everything is clean and for a really good price! We also have a full kitchen that we can use! I made such good friends in the girls dorm !!! I would totally come back!!

Had a very nice stay at this hostel for 6 nights! Nice staff, good rooms and clean bathrooms. Only comment would be that the beds squeak a lot! But after a beer or two you do not mind.

We had a decent experience at sunflower. As three girls we struggled with having no mirror in the room. Also the shower facilities were not great. The showers were not draining and over flowing and had a bad smell so there was only 1 shower working at a time on the whole floor. We stayed for 4 days and the shower remained clogged the whole time. Bed were comfortable and lockers were good! Staff was friendly, good drinks, and good vibe. Overall it was fine but somethings could be improved.

this is a very social hostel in a really cool neighbourhood. the staff are very friendly and the rooms are reasonable. i would stay here again

Location is good but hostel is dirty and has an unsettling vibe. I have stayed in hostels all over the world and this is the first time I have ever seriously considered leaving a hostel but since my stay was during summer travel season there were not other options. The shower in my room was just a shower had and drain on the floor with a rusty squeegee mop to clean up the water. Overpriced and weird vibes. The pics online look like a cute boho vibe, but irl it feels like you are literally sleeping in the back of a bar. 2 nights here, I could only brave the shower once.

Hostel is okay in most ways rooms are decent though seems like they never get cleaned properly, and some of the beds are a bit unstable and squeaky. My main problem with this hostel is I booked a room for two nights but was told I had to change rooms and I was not offered an early check in or free luggage storage even when I asked. This means from 11 until four I had no room or even anywhere to put my bags. Staff were nice but they couldn't help me as apparently this is just the hostels policy.

Great location for transport and clubbing. The room was really nice with spacious lockers and even a balcony. Bathrooms were ok but cramped and a bit dirty (standard). Nice vibe but you can get better at other hostels.

This hostel is close to many clubs so that’s good, but the shower is just a shower head and a drain on the floor. You have to literally use a squeegee mop. Check in isn’t until 4pm which is very late in my opinion. The staff is fine and the other guests were nice as well but it’s more of a party hostel. I would not recommend this place. I felt it was overpriced for what you get basically $85 for 2 week nights.

Nice hostel, lot of young people, most travellers here are interested about clubbing if you are into that. Staff was not so nice, but I would say that they were just unhappy , otherwise they were polite.

Good location to stay in, easy access to transport and decent restaurants nearby. Facilities were good overall, hostel clean, and atmosphere fantastic if you’re looking for a more social/party hostel in Berlin.

I LOVE SUNFLOWER HOSTEL ???? Such an amazing atmosphere for social travellers, the staff set the tone with how friendly they are. I stayed as a solo female traveller in a 4 bed mixed dorm and felt completely safe the whole time. The location is amazing!! After staying in a few other locations in Berlin this is by far my favourite district, it’s very close to amazing bars, restaurants, cafes and clubs. I’m coming back in two weeks to stay here again!!!

great hostel..

Not a good hostel in my opinion. Beds were SO loud and it was so dirty on the floor. Staff was lowkey ignoring me when I Got in and I had to ask myself if I could check in. They were just chatting with eachother while I was staying there (my first place on my first solo travel, so a bit anxious). The People staying there was really weird also and no social events. All I all i Think it was Way too expensive for what you Got.

If you're looking to meet friendly people from all over the world and go to explore the city together, that's a great place to start. The hostel is a few minutes' walk from some of the best techno clubs in the world, and there's a great night life overall. The stuff was very kind as well. No complaints.

Don't stay here if you need a room with airflow. Wasn't even hot outside but the room was so hot I couldn't sleep and has to leave early
