Sunflower Hostel

i stayed here in the summer of 2023 with one friend in a triple room. the staff were very nice - although beware there is a fee to pay on arrival (i think it was 20 euro or so). other than that the hostel itself is well placed near a train station and very sociable - we ended up going on multiple nights out with people we met there. they also make decently priced cocktails, and have a good overall vibe. we also enjoyed the turkish cafe nearby as well as the kebab shop round the corner. overall, highly recommend!

Very nice hostel. Great atmosphere, lovely people working there! The bathroom were very luxurious for a hostel, better than the one I have at home. The beds were very firm. The only negative thing is that the walls are thin, so you could hear everything, which wasn’t a problem for my group, but we were afraid we would keep other people up at night.

I wouldn’t be writing a review had I not been treated so poorly by staff. A traveller at the hostel was witnessed by another traveller stealing an item of my clothing at the hostel on Friday night. I told the staff this had occurred shortly thereafter, and they told me they’d look into it. In the morning, the item hadn’t been returned. I told the staff at the front desk. The staff said he’d check the CCTV and went to the back to do so. He then came out a minute later and told me that he wasn’t going to look and that I’d need to file a police report. I told him that, while we didn’t know the names of the travellers, if he just looked for two Spanish women staying in the same room, he could just go in and ask for it back. He refused and started getting so angry and threatening toward me that my friend and I decided to leave immediately rather than escalate. I am shocked by this treatment. On the rooms, the beds (as mentioned by another traveler), are very uncomfortable and the bedding is low quality and very run down. You need to put sheets and bedding on your own bed, which would suck if you arrive late. Otherwise, it was a social hostel and I met lots of nice people there. It’s a shame my stay ended the way it did.
