Lollis Homestay Hostel

Brilliant hostel for solo travellers or small groups looking to meet other backpackers. Located in a really cool part of Dresden. For such a good price, you get free unlimited tea & coffee too. Great kitchen and communal area, friendly and helpful staff who are passionate about the hostel and area. Everywhere in Dresden is within walking distance and to top it all off, there’s a massive nature reserve located nearby where you can go hiking or cycling.

This hostel was great. Free dinners are amazing, although I would not recommend the breakfast, as it would be cheaper to buy some food for your stay, and I thought the selection was very limited. Only two of the staff were willing to have a conversation with you and help you out. Bikes are old - although they are free. I had the jungle themed room, looked great although I’m not sure if the structure of the bunk bed is stable - as I could move the legs.

I was there for three nights, I had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly and had so many good recommendations for activities and places to eat/ drink since they were all locals. I even got to borrow a bike for a full day which was very kind. I stayed in the 6 bed female dorm which was fantastic, there are curtains around the beds, a PowerPoint by the bed and a light, big lockers for bags and valuables, comfortable beds and plenty of space so you don’t feel like you’re sardines. The bathrooms were tidy and had lots of hooks and platforms to store your things while showering. Everything was very clean and tidy all the time and the optional breakfast was really good. It’s a great location with lots of bars and restaurants close, the park is also close if you want to see where all the locals hang out on nice days. The old town is about 30 minutes away but it’s a nice walk, or you can borrow a bike which is what I did. I cannot speak higher about lollies!
