Wombats City Hostel
Reviews for Wombats City Hostel
Great location: right next to the train station and major subway and transportation hub.
There are also few grocery stores near-by.
Close to the old town where the morning walking tour will take you to explore the city in a charming way.
Facility is clean and well maintained. Great place to stay and meet new people from all over the world.
I've stayed previously in other two Wombats hostels in other locations and I've always been very pleased. However, this time it didn't meet my expectations.
I stayed for two nights in a shared room. We had way too many beds (10) for only ONE toilet and shower. There is no access to any other common shower rooms, so you simply have to wait. The water pressure in the shower is ridiculous, feels like showering under the rain, plus the water has some kind of sulfur smell to it that doesn't add anything positive.
The bathroom and room were generally clean. My bunk bed had clean bedsheets, however, the wooden sides were pretty dirty, as well as the walls and ceiling around my bed, which was pretty disgusting.
Also, to access most of the rooms there is an elevator, but the very last floor, to reach this room, has no elevator. You need to use a very narrow staircase to reach the room, not very convenient if you're traveling with a heavy bag.
They do offer a paid breakfast option (€5.30) as they did in the other locations too, which is pretty good for the price.
Convenient location near the train station, main reason why I stayed here. Probably wouldn't stay again.
Definitely the perfect place if you're looking for a vibrant atmosphere. The days get quiet, as guests go out to visit the city, but in the afternoons there are always people around to share a pint and laughs. The rooms offer you lockers that only open with your room card, and breakfast is available for 5,30. You can eat as much as you want. I missed some croissants or pastries with it though. It has a very cool bar too, and beer prices are good, so don't hesitate to have a big litre beer there. The only setback is the shower. In the mornings it can work hell of a slow, so it make take an eternity for you to shower. Still it's a very recommendable spot, equally close to city centre and railway station.
