A bit more expensive than other hostels in the area, but overall they do a quite good job. Attentive front desk staff, pretty clean and modern facility and fun and friendly guests. Only recommendation would be to be competitive with AO Galluswarte in price. Then I'd book this hostel every single time!

Great establishment, amazing staff, lovely environment, just the location is bit off as it's right in the middle of red light area - however, really close the the Main Hauptbahnoff which makes travelling really easy. Leaving a review after my second stay here and would totally recommend it!

By far the best hostel Ive ever stayed at. The service, the location, and the facilities are top top.
All the employees were always with a great attitude and open to answer all of my questions.
If you are looking for a safe place to stay, do not hesitate to book a room at 5 Elements.

Pathetic...very pathetic.. Dirty rooms which smells like s***. We need to pay extra 3 euro per person for bed sheets and we need to put it on the bed on our own. Very dirty washrooms with water overflowing from the toilet.

It's been said before but the location is a bit sketch.
I didn't feel comfortable going back outside unless I needed to. They had free dinner while I was there and the hostel itself was fine. Pretty decent value for the money, you will need to put out a bit more money when you get to the hostel for a sheet rental 3€ and a city tax 2€ + a key deposit.
It was veryyyy close to the train station which was the main calling for me and the vibe outside at 6 am was okay enough that I walked.

The hostel was decent, and the staff was friendly. However, I barely slept because one guest was talking loudly while sleeping and making disturbing sounds throughout the night. Though they eventually moved us, it felt wrong that he was allowed to stay a second night despite the other complaints the day before.

Given the area where it is located (right in the center of the prostitution and junkies area) you feel completely safe at the property and all the facilities are clean and proper. There is young people at the hostel and there seems to be nightly activities however the staff doesn't bother to inform you about this nor does it try integrating the solo guests. Would recommend for facilities and value for money but not for socializing.

Very bad, it seems clean, but you will discover later that it is not clean and there are also insects such as bedbugs. I did not sleep all night because of the bedbugs and because of the screaming and noise coming from the street. I do not recommend it at all. According to my experience, I left early in the morning and did not finish my day yet!

I been to worst hostels, this one by comparison was luxury (ie clean beds, toilets, showers, working elevator ).
We had a nice free pasta night! They occasionally hold other social events too, such as beer tasting and game nights at least twice a week. Take advantage of the 2 for 1 happy hour ! Close walk to train station less than 8 mins .
Unfortunately, the location will always be an issue, no matter what! Unless the city decides to purge the red lights district .

A very cheap hostel with good facilities insofar (stayed in private single room). The room / bathroom were clean and comfortable. It’s very cheap because it’s in a really awful part of the city. There are junkies on the street below who are very out of it and pimps and sex workers who pursue you as you walk to and away from the hostel. I didn’t feel secure or safe at all in this area and can only imagine it’d be worse for women. The receptionists weren’t the friendliest. Wouldn’t stay here again

Good place, of course it was a Ted light district, but you should have been aware of it. I didn't like the fact, you need to pay an extra fee for a sleeping sheet, it should have been then in a price. nice activities are offered by a hostel. It may be quite loud, because of the 24/7 street actions.

To me, this is the hostel of warnings and Red flags:
Good aspect of it is that the receptionists are kind and nice, but all the rest is poorly managed.
The position is not the Hostel's fault but, as mentioned by many, is the worst imaginable place.
I knew the risk thanks to other reviews, they tell you unnicely in their first email, which is very long, and it's only mentioned by half of It.
I'm not new to places with drugs addicts but the block where the 5elements is, is truly beyond the lack of safety. Locals later confirmed me it's the worst part of Germany (and probably one of the most dangerous and neglected in UE too).
And it's for the intense screams of people with withdrawals all night long, crazily high music and bottles breaking on the ground, people collapsing, ambulance sirens: not the hostel's fault, but with NO ISOLATING WINDOWS in the rooms you won't sleep!! I had strong isolating headphones and wasn't enough.
While, somehow, the hall has sound isolating Windows. Why??
Check in is very late: (4 p.m) I was there for business reasons like many (visiting the Fair) and it was pretty uncomfortable:
They claim to have a "baggage storage room" while, even if it's behind a door locked with a key, it Is actually a unused toilet clearly stating "LEAVE YOUR BAGS AT YOUR OWN RISK" .
How can you feel peaceful and welcomed here? Maybe by cooking a meal in the kithen underground and reading that if you don't turn the kithen hood and the fire alarm starts it will be 500 euros fee right away?
So, after all these warnings and the threats to your safety each time you go out (day and night) at least the hostel is clean.
But with such basic services, to double their standard fee only around the bookfair's week is petty and unmatching the few you get with your stay.

This hostel provides a little bit of everything for a small price, it is in a very central location, the staff weren’t very upbeat or welcoming but they were helpful nonetheless. I liked how we had access to meals, tea, coffee and wifi all for free throughout the day. These amenities and the people within made for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, my only issue is more so with the area around the hostel, It’s located in a district where you may be offered drugs and or pressed for money.

Place itself wasnt too bad but the issue i had was a fellow room mate decided it was okay to piss all over the floor in our room with other peoples belongings being covered in urine, to my disgust i notified reception about what had happened just to be told 'sorry, did you want house keeping to clean up the mess?' I agreed and requested the person responsible to be removed from the hostel but was told no and he was never questioned or held accountable, when i stated to them things may get heated within the room they said theyd just call the police on ME!??? seriously?? you can tell they didnt care in the slightest about the incident. I felt sorry for the poor guys stuff that had been soaked in urine. Shocking effort

The room itself is not bad, a clean hostel.
The service was terrible.
Especially the black-haired, glasses-wearing receptionist in the morning is crazy. Do you understand that your job includes explaining things to customers?
I don't know if you're annoyed because you're working from early in the morning for a low salary and busy, but at least try to add "please" to your imperatives. Don't take out your frustrations about the way you're treated on customers. Calm down.
The rest of the staff seemed pretty busy but at least not aggressive.
The toilet was clogged and didn't get fixed for a day, the kitchen is the height of unsanitary conditions.
Yes, it's a bit of a low end hostel in Frankfurt. It's cheap so I guess that's to be expected (but worse than thought)
I recommend this to young people, especially men, who don't mind the discomfort. I definitely don't recommend this to women or people with money to spare.

They will charge you extra €7 on fees, including €3 of sheets so you can make your bed, keep that in mind, Booking may be a better method to reserve your accommodation as it shows full price.
The location is sketchy, the street is full of homeless and drugs users, all the night there were people screaming and arab music on the street, the beds are old metal, so at the minimum movement they make loud noises. Overall average clean, zero traveller vibe, they guy at the reception was okay. Would not recommend for multiple day stays…

Was an alright place to stay. Outside the hostel is quite sketchy and a person not even staying at the hostel was able to sneak in.
I stayed in a private room and there is no locker to put valuables. A staff member came in randomly without knocking to clean. So just be aware that you shouldn’t leave your valuables in the room.

Right after booking they send you this by mail: "We're in the middle of the red light district. If that bothers you, you can cancel for a 1 night fee." I was staying one night, could've put that on your website before booking if you weren't as deceptive.
At night, there's drunks on the streets, broken glass on the ground. We were legit scared walking there.
Mattresses and sheets were stained. The price isn't even an excuse, for the same price you have a clean space and personal utilities at different hostels.
Also, some people seem to use their bed as a long-term place to stay, entering at 5AM with the full lights on, or talking on the phone.

The location was super scary, as a female traveller I would not recommend unless you are in a group. You had to pay extra for bedsheets which seems like false advertising plus there are no locks on the storage bins for bags and no lockers. The bar has good prices and staff are nice though, and sometimes there is free pasta which is good.

I stayed in a single room, there was no option to lock the door, no safe/locker for valuables. Lights for the room did not turn on (Think they were broken). The shower head looked gross with the amount of efflorescence on it, like the bathroom hasn't been properly cleaned in years.
Don’t waste your money on this place, its much worse than other five elements I’ve stayed at.
Only good thing I can say about the hostel is its close proximity to the train station, and the staff.

The staff was nice but the worst location possible with little to no warning. The warning stated that they found it 'entertaining' which is absolutely not the case. Staying here as female in her early 20s was unsettling due to the location. I had to leave the day of arrival and book a different place because I felt unsafe to walk on the street. The private room was a decent size but felt dirty and unwelcoming. The towel they left looked like it have been used for a decade.

SINGLE FEMALE TRAVELLERS BEWARE!!!! I stayed here by myself and was scared to leave the hostel because the area is so sketchy. You can walk 10 minutes in any direction and get out of the worst of it but it was very uncomfortable. Hostel itself was good but omg walking with a big stupid tourist bag made me feel like a wounded water buffalo on a nature documentary.
The good thing about this hostel is that they have a nice lounge area, which was good for hiding in lol

Perfect location if you need to connect with Frankfurt main station (just a few mins walk). Loads of nice restaurants nearby, and shops too. The hostel itself is nice, room/bed was comfy, shower/toilet very clean, nice common area with a bar, a patio for smoking and chill out. Kitchen downstairs smells terrible like dead rats though. Staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed watching the junkies on the street at the red light district, but some people might find it scary at night (and day).

This hotel is near Frankfurt railway station, this area is infamous for druggies and addicts which makes up for bad atmosphere especially for kids. The hotel charged for bedsheets, pillow cover and blanket cover which does not makes sense as a person who is going to stay will definitely want those things to be included with price of bed. One can stay if they are planning to visit in Frankfurt for 1 day or so.
