Five Elements Hostel

In the middle of the red light districted, surrounded by drug addicts. Charged me an extra €6 for the bed sheets and pillow.

Fantastic hostel, the location couldn’t be better. Yes, as others say there are some interesting characters on the street in the area but honestly, they’re minding their business. I have never been stopped by or even spoken to by anyone so I felt rather safe. The hostel was super clean. When back in Frankfurt again, I won't look for another place.

Overall a good experience. Service was good. Breakfast was good. The rooms were clean. The reason for 4 stars was the location was not good at all, despite being close to the train station it is in the red light district and very noisy. The rooms windows close and block out noise but there is no AC so it was very hot. It did not have a welcome homely feeling but overall a very good hostel.

To match nose to sleep and a bit dangerous to go out alone at night to go eat when your a women.

Definitely don't go. They put someone at the reception desk who had trouble understanding. It keeps people waiting. He says don't wait that long and come in the evening. The computer is also slow. If your time and energy are valuable, do not go here

Please don’t be deceived by the 4 star review. Picked this hostel due to its proximity to the main train station but i regretted my decision immediately on my walk over from the station. I got a private room since I had a very long flight and wanted to get a good night’s sleep. The hostel is right in the middle of the Frankfurt red light district. Apart from the array of sex workers standing around the area, the vicinity is filled with people high to various extents and acting like hooligans. Due to this, the area also smells of urine. Getting to the actual room, yes it the minimal level of clean but as expected for the price you get a pretty basic mattress that isn’t comfortable. They also charge you for the bedsheets which came as a shock to most the people staying there. Would not stay here again.

Very friendly reception and you can get water and tea for free 24/7! Rooms are okay. I stayed in a two person bedroom with a shared bathroom on the floor. The bathrooms weren't so nice and I feel like two showers (1 male, 1 female) for one floor is a little bit too less. Not really clean and too less space in the shower room to put stuff on. Also it gets extremely humid because there are no windows in the bathroom which makes the whole floor feel hot af as well. Only a 5min walk to the central station which was convenient but the area is not the most pleasant.

Pretty naff hostel. slapped me with a €8.50 charge at the start which wasn't ideal. Also it wasn't the cleanest of hostels especially the fact that the toilet was blocked for a whole day so the bathroom was unusable. Although I feel like part of this hostel's problem is that its location is bad.

Everything in the hostel during my stay was normal (not good not bad) only the staff, or to more specified one of the staff was so RUDE and NOT PROFESSIONAL at all, I’m wondering how did they hired her and I’m sure that she has never had any courses about customer service and customer satisfaction, this staff member is CHINESE, of course I don’t have any problems with Chinese they are really good and kind ppl, but this girl is so unprofessional and RUDE. I hope she sees this feedback.

I read all of the reviews before I booked so I was aware of what I was getting myself into. However as a female solo traveler, I cannot stress how unsafe I felt in the area. Additionally my roommates were not the type of roommates I’ve experienced in previous hostels and made me a little uncomfortable. If you’re prepared and in a group, I could see the appeal because the hostel itself is fine, I have no qualms with staff or vibe of the common areas. Just be warned.

Only drawback is the location, the moment you step outside you risk being harassed by homeless. They do warn you in the description though so it’s not a total shock. The hostel itself is very secure and the facilities and atmosphere are quite good, breakfast is kind of expensive for what they offer, but it is all you can eat.

Decent for what you pay for. I really liked how close it was to the train station. As other comments mention, sketchy area but I knew what to expect and didn't mind too much (solo female traveller). I wasn't alone at night though. What I didn't like is that the shower stalls are only separated by a thinly shaded piece of glass?? You can very clearly see through it. Also the rooms get super hot. The little fan in the dorm didn't do much, still felt like so airflow with the windows open.
