Five Elements Hostel

Let's start with the good stuff: chill common area, okay rooms, spacious shower. The bad: employees have a bit of an attitude, and I was stung all over my body during the night, but there weren't any mosquitoes... for that alone I would give this establishment one star. HOWEVER, and here comes the best part, the location is AMAZING. Right in the center of the action. We basically had front row seats to Europe's Skid Row. The show started at around 8PM. Dozens of junkies converging in the streets, from all walks of life, smoking crack out in the open. The diversity of the crowd was like a woke college student's wet dream. All the drama, shouting, public sex acts, fights, police raids, broken beer bottles, plot twists. It was like watching reality TV, but actually REAL! Raw life in its ultimate most deprived form. We were wondering, how did these poor addicts get to this point in their lives. To what extent did they choose this? The experience felt more educational than amusing. This show alone earns a second star. The area felt uncomfortable, but never unsafe. It's like a parallel bubble, living next to the conventional bubbles. The contrast with the financial center of Europe only two blocks away, was fascinating.

In a sketchier area, but relatively safe if you're smart and don't engage and walk fast. Overcompensates with amenities and daily happy hour and activities. Easy to make friends

Initially upon arrival a few hours before check in, I came across a Asian girl, who wasn’t in the best mood, not mentioning that baggage storage downstairs was a free storage room (which I found a lot later) I had to pay out of pocket for a locker . Not cool . First impression , not good. However the rest of the staff was AWESOME. The Happy Hour is a great deal, and the bbq is delicious . I meet some awesome people there. Be aware that you need tokens for the laundry room, cost €6 .

El hostel esta bien, buena ubicación y buen precio. El barrio puede dar un poco de mal rollo, sobre todo de noche. Aun asi, lo que es el hostel, todo muy bien, amables y buenos servicios.
