Five Elements Hostel

I had read the reviews on the neigborhood but nothing could prepare me on how bad it really was. Staff weren’t very welcoming either. Overall just a depressing experience, ended up moving to another hostel without spending the night.

The staff was nice and helpful. I didn’t realize the location is in the red light district at the time I booked it so it’s a bit dirty and there are things to watch out for. You’ll see various licit and illicit activities and may be solicited. One receptionist reassured another person that it was generally safe to go out at night. The breakfast was very nice and affordable at €7.5. They don’t take card unless you spend €15 or more though so keep that in mind.

Hostel was great, had a great community down at the cafe/bar each evening. Staff and facilities worked well. The location of the hostel was not great to walk around at night or alone, that is the only flaw. But in walking distance to downtown Frankfurt, will definitely return if in area again.

As says every review it’s in the middle of the red light district but it’s only one street so unless you’re a woman alone at night it’s fine. Very secure establishment people were nice. Kitchen was a little crowded but that’s okay. Only stayed one night but it was fine bathroom was clean.

The staff is very nice and helpful, the common rooms are nice as well.

The sheets and pillows were all discolored. The bathrooms didn't seem to be attended to.

Hostel in a really unsafe area, sandwiched in between a strip club and a casino with people shouting outside constantly, were placed in a room with two individuals that made me and my friend feel really unsafe. Understandable why it’s non-refundable because we stayed for about an hour and checked out, the staff didn’t even question it. no young person would feel safe here especially a female

I loved the place. I always use hostels, and Hostelworld is consistently a good deal. That said, the men's toilets, BOTH of them, were clogged my second and third days. That just wasn't pleasant. Otherwise, everything was hunky-dory.
