Sunflower Hostel

Staff is very arrogant, no proper guidance even he don’t told me about location of room he just said your room number is 001, Not proper guidance even. In the shower room there was no shampoo, body wash, and hair brush. Stay away from sunflower.

best hostel ever

I was in Berghain last weekend and it was top. Spent 4 nights in this hostel and I loved it. My roommates were all very nice people. The rooms i stayed in, 313 and 333 were nice and clean. The breakfast wonderful. The best part of this hostel is the staff. They were all very welcoming, very accommodating. Top people. I will come back for my next Berghain experience in May. See you soon, guys!

I’m a female solo traveler and I can only recommend this place, everything was perfect, the location, the people, an address to save!

My experience in this hostel was as a solo traveler, and I felt like it was quite hard to meet people at this hostel. The common area and bar had lots of people but felt a bit intimidating. Other than that I loved my stay, it was great, location is incredible, and the facilities are good. I would stay again

Tutto alla perfezione! L' Ostello sunflower è un posto dotato di una atmosfera unica,dove è veramente facile incontrare gente,la struttura è ubicata in una zona carina di Berlino e non lontana dal centro. La struttura è anche molto accogliente e pulita,la colazione aggiuntiva è buonissima e il personale è molto amichevole, disponibile e simpatico! Lo raccomando Totalmente e sicuramente ci tornerò!

Insgesamt ganz gut. Leute waren nett. Sind logischerweise auch viele zum raven dort. Viele Clubs und vegane Restaurants in der Nähe. Die Bäder waren leider ziemlich schmutzig. Die haben eine ordentliche Reinigung nötig.

Cool hostel very near to city center, by bus or Underground. Beds are comfy, polite & friendly receptionists, a small dinner area at ground floor, flexible check-in out, clean rooms. Prices are wow for a small tour in Berlin. Definetly one of the best options to choose. Bonus- close to world famous Berghain club; if you have the chance to get in

love the vibe of the common room and the quality and cleanliness of the rooms and bathroom. the lady who checked me out was really sweet, and so was the guy who handled an issue I had with some girls in my room, instantly moving me to another room. so overall very nice, just was expecting a bit more of a social vibe, but I guess it’s december so I’ll give it another try in the summer!

The staff are 10/10 super friendly, generous and helpful. Our biggest issue in our stay was, the room smelled really bad and it was freezing all the time…my friend and I used our jackets as well at night as extra blankets. Other than that the hostel is nice and the location depends on what you’re planning to do in Berlin is good!

It was a good place to sleep, but I didn't feel the young atmosfere.

L’emplacement de l’hôtel est très loin par rapport à la gare routière. Certaines personnes du personnel sont mal polies, mais le reste est magnifique, pour dire toute la vérité. J’ai réservé un jour de plus la veille, mais le lendemain, j’étais obligé de récupérer mes bagages à 10h00 et de rentrer dans la chambre à 15h00. Pas de cuisine, pas de plaque chauffante, pas de réfrigérateur. »

Highly recommend this hostel. Very lively and easy to meet people. The bar is so convenient and beer is cheap. Location is 8 min walking from metro/train station so easy to get around. If you’re here for clubbing, Berghain is 200m away! Katerblau, trésor are also close-by. The rooms are fine and the pillow is very confortable. Only downside I would say is the bathrooms and showers need renovation. Shoutout to Oleg for being so kind

Staff is incredible, special shoutout to Marianthi who was so lovely. The team clearly cares about creating a welcoming atmosphere and environment for the guests. Whenever I need a hostel in Berlin, Sunflower will always be my first choice. Thanks again to the staff

There is only one bathroom per corridor of rooms, so if someone is showering you cannot even go to the toilet. Also just wasnt very clean, we got bed linens that were covered in blood!

The showers and bathrooms are detached and dirty. The beds are loud but they provide towels. You have to put sheets on yourself. It’s a 10 min walk from the nearest S-bahn and not in the most central location.

das Bad könnte auf jeden Fall mal eine ordentliche Säuberung vertragen, aber man konnte nich duschen gehen (Badeschlappen sind der Key). ich mag es nicht wenn dran steht das spinte da sind aber man das Schloss selber mitnehmen muss.

Einfaches, aber sehr schönes Appartement. Die Küche ist spärlich, aber ausreichend ausgestattet. Würde ich für Tripps mit Freunden weiterempfehlen.

Good vibes in this hostel. Close to lots of public transport including Ostbahnhof. At the edge of lots of shops, cafes, and bars in Friedrichshain. Staff were friendly. Have to make your own beds but they were very comfy.

Amazing hostel. Super quirky and cool benefit to be so close to Berghain. Some staff were quite rude. I asked for ice a few times for our water and juice while we had dinner. And the third time we asked, we were rudely told to tip them which is strange as it is just ice and it wasn’t super busy or anything.

All the staff were lovely and nice except for one guy with glasses and a sleeve tattoo, he made me and my friend feel like a burden to be there, he seemed short with us because he just wanted to talk to his friends and not have to do his job. He also spoke about me about my purchase choice in front of me in German to his friend, which my friend heard and is German so she told me, not what I’m expecting from a hostel. Apart from this guy, the staff was lovely and is a great value for money there.

i just stayed for 2 nights and can't complain about anything! staff was fab, shower hot and room clean! lockers to secure your stuff, girls dorm super spacious and berghain around the corner! will come back (: bis zum nächsten mal!

I found the location empty and boring. The kitchen was dirty, and even the kettle to boil water was nasty. The room was several floors up (some of the floors had dirty clothes laying in the stairs) with no elevator, and there are several doors to get there. In the morning I was going to the kitchen from the room and my card stopped working and I was locked out! I could not get back into the room and not the reception. This was long time before checkout. Luckily I had my phone with me, if not I have no idea how long I would have had to wait, since there were no one in my room at the time. I stayed in the female dorm. There is only one bathroom in the entire floor, so I someone is showering there, there is no way to go to the toilet on the entire floor. The windows let so much light in during the night because of the curtains not covering the windows efficiently. You have to do the linens on your bed and pay 6 euros for deposit for it, but the worst thing is that people start taking the bed linens on the bed or remove them in the middle of the night, because of this, two people did this after I went to bed and FOUR people before I was supposed to wake up. The air was stuffy and every time someone woke me up it took me hours to fall back asleep. The bed makes a lot of noise when someone is on the top bunk. I found a couple of the receptionists unhelpful and unfriendly, but a couple was nice. I was ignored for a long time when I was trying to order from the bar. There is no free luggage storage. I think this is fine if you are partying a lot and too drunk to care about comfort or noise. Or if you are taking a train in the middle of the night and don't care about waking up everyone else and doing the bed linens in the middle of the night. For me, I have learned not to book hostels with reception open all night. Coffee in the morning costs money. I would not stay here again. Edit after response: Thank you for understanding :) I am a frequent dorm sleeper, so not a noob, so I know what is normal.

I had an amazing stay at Sunflower Hostel in Friedrichshain, Berlin! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and full of character, and the atmosphere was laid-back and social. The location is unbeatable, just minutes from Warschauer Straße, and tons of bars, cafés, and clubs. Everything felt safe, well-run, and authentically Berlin. I’d highly recommend Sunflower Hostel to anyone looking for a fun, comfortable, and vibrant place to stay in the city!

Nunca prenden la calefacción y les dije la prendían 10 minutos y la apagaban no hay cocina dolo un microondas es más un bar q con habitaciones que un hostal queda lejos de los monumentos es bueno si hay s bares

Solo female traveler review: I loved my stay at sunflower hostel the design is very cute and my room was clean/bed was comfortable although terribly squeaky which isn’t a huge deal but gets very annoying. The room had a huge trunk for your personals which was amazing I didn’t need to have anything lying out and although I’m not very social the people staying at the hostel are. I thought it was well located you’re very close to buses/trains and a mall I’d definitely recommend staying!

Lgbtqia+ friendly, great vibe, has a great bar at reception. The room I was in was outside of wifi range which sucked as a foreigner, but the double size pod my fiance and I booked was delightful, and the aesthetic was immaculate. The staff were mostly nice, but I imagine as an American I am very biased by the customer service culture there. All I will say is they were accommodating and pretty patient with me. The location is heavily reliant on transportation to see most attractions in the area. Plan around that. I would absolutely visit again.

Uno de los recepcionistas o el manager, fue extremadamente grosero, tanto en el check in como en la salida. Una chica que se llama María fue toooooodo lo contrario. Súper amable y servicial. El hombre con tatuajes dañó toda nuestra experiencia. No debería trabajar aquí, sino tiene el gusto.

Was not clean, not enough bathrooms (only one for one dorm in the whole floor), was locked out of the room due to the key not giving me access anymore and couldn't go anywhere, too much light pollution, they take a fee (or deposit) for EVERYTHING, people coming and going all night, and due to the guests needing to make their own beds and undo it and bring the linenes back down to get the deposit back, this causes a lot of disturbance. Uncomfortable room with stuffy air. Can’t recommend.

I've been here multiple times and always had a great experience :).Compared to other hostels in berlin this one feels very authentic. Fair prices, friendly staff, mostly clean facilities and rooms. (Book on their website for the best price)

Worst rooms i've ever seen they were dirty, the blankets were full of bloodstains, in every corner was dirt. The Room-Service did nothing but take our Pfand. Not even the Trash bins were emptied. In the night everybody was smoking in front of the hostel und hearing loud music so sleeping was very difficult. The Showers were full of bodyhair, some toilet doors didnt work properly. The whole floor smelled like chloride. Overall a very bad expirience wouldnt go there anytime.

Staff was very friendly and made me feel welcomed. Prime location at a good price. Only downside is my room didn't have enough outlets but other than that I completely recommend it
