I loved staying here so much (and loved Berlin so much) I extended my stay and would stay longer! Staff is great, the facilities and common areas are cool and inviting. Free coffee and water all day which is a life saver! Beds comfy, showers good, lots of outlets for charging phones, environment friendly. I would definitely stay here again and wish I could stay longer.

The hostel posting was pretty misleading as we booked a "twin private room" and it was a capsule with one king bed not a room. The office couldn't really do anything about it or care to get us into any private room. However, the stay itself was nice. It was very clean and the showers were nice. I wish their was more events this isn't really a social hostel where you can meet people. Location however is amazing! Overall, satisfied with the hostel.

Amazing location, helpful multilingual staff and overall felt very safe. Simple but perfect for what we needed. Very clean and free towels provided at reception.

Good hostel for short passage!

I would say overall a great stay for the price. The bathroom was not too clean but couldn’t really complain that much.

everything about it hostel is great. i made some great friends very quickly and the staff were very nice. it was clean, had good facilities and only criticism could be small lockers and that the hostel is far from lots of club/bar areas. this being said it is very near to lots of the nice areas in berlin like the brandenburg gate and the river. overall experience was very very pleasant.

Great staff and location. The capsules are isolated, dark and quiet but a bit creaky.

Pros: Cheap, great location, some staff were friendly and helpful cons: At around 22:30 a guy came into the room saying that I was in his bed, turned out the guy in the bunk beneath me wasn't supposed to be in the room - im not sure whose fault it was but it didnt give a good impression on security or organisation The pillows were basically disintegrated and the linen felt cheap but I guess you get what you pay for? Some staff weren't very enthusiastic when I needed help and didn't explain much

we both really enjoyed our stay here. Although short, we felt immediately welcomed by the hostels team. We played card games in kitchen with Hannah and Sam who were lovely! neither of us have ever been to a hostel with such an amazing atmosphere which is created by a team. it is so nice to be with people our age!! will definitely be visiting again. Bei uns hat es im Zimmer mies gestunken trotzdem, dass wir konstant gelüftet haben. Ansonsten war es aber gut. Für soziale Aktivitäten gibt es bessere Hostels

First hostel experience and overall it was very good. Pleasant and helpful staff. One even let me use his phone to contact my banks in America as my bank cards were not working, nor was my phone (God bless him extra). Capsule was a decent size, had C and USB charging ports, a light with a dimmer switch and a mirror in it. Guests were pretty respectful with regards to noise in the sleeping area. Great cleaning staff. Great location!!! Close to many spots I wanted to check out.

The capsule beds made a lot of noises. The blanket and pillow were so bad it seemed that they were picked up from a dumpster and put to use in this hostel (I have a picture and video). The hostel dorm where these capsules were placed, were not clean. The bathrooms and toilets were not clean.

good cheap one night stay. staff were lovely, room was clean. weird thing with the payment and the deposit to hostelworld not counted?

I went there with my wife and stayed 4 nights. the staff super nice with a great attitude. however the hostal is in very bad conditions. in our room there was a broken bed in use, we received torn sheets and the pillows were in very bad conditions, bathrooms are not very cleaned and had a bad smell, the kitchen was dirty all the time and pots and pans have been in use for thousands of years. I think you can have something better for a couple of euros, we didn't enjoy Berlín because of the hostel

I stayed for 7 days. It was so good except that the mixed rooms you never know who you’re with as a girl there are men who tend to be touchy. Just mske sure you stand your ground and/or just don’t speak to the men so freely or they can take advantage. But overall the staff were so good… it’s a good place close to everything. As a girl, don’t be too friendly with men. Would definitely come again.

Very nice hostel in the center of Berlin, close to the most important places in the walking distance. Bathrooms are clean and there’s a kitchen to use. Free tea and coffee 24h per day is a nice thing. Beds don’t have curtains which is a drawback.

The hostel was fine enough to stay , the staff was helpful. I had booked a private capsule but the charging place ( type C ) . Reception said they send someone to fix it, but the type C charging was still not working.

Pretty good value for money. Difficult to sleep at night because of people talking loudly and street noise. It would be good to have some none-smoking tables in the yard. Breakfast just OK.

Paid 100 dollars for 3 days basically just for a comfy bed and an ok location close to main attractions. The room and bathroom stayed dirty even though they’d come in to change the trash. The toilet was dirty, mold(?) on the shower curtain, no soap or paper towels, and the shower drain was clogged so the floor would have puddles of water everywhere. Which would b ok if they’d actually come in and clean, but the entire 3 days I stayed it was disgusting.

Needs to be cleaned properly, also the sheets were dirty.

low cost accomodation, 30 mins from central station. worth to try. however, manage your expectation. your sleep might be distrubed a lot and they dont have doors for their bathroom.

It was very busy. The staff we’re friendly and helpful but definitely overwhelmed and a bit unprofessional. Not the most clean but enough so. I’d say if you are sensitive to cleanliness to pick somewhere else. Great location, everywhere is walkable but it’s not in the middle. Minimal guest kitchen not super well stocked or taken care of. Good big refrigerators for guests to use.

It was a nice inexpensive and convenient place to stay. The only concern I had was the slippery shower floor because the granite tile was dangerous-even with just wet feet (actually fell hard on my right side because of this and they were only able to offer ice packs).

La habitación estaba muy sucia y los colchones eran muy incómodos. En mi cama no había ningún enchufe y tuve la mala suerte de tener compañeros y compañeras de habitación muy sucios y que roncaban mucho, se me hizo casi imposible poder descansar bien.

Mi experiencia de una mediana/larga estancia en el Hostal Heart of Gold ha sido bastante agradable, por no decir increíble.Me ha encantado la cercanía y naturalidad del Staff para tratar con los clientes, es un sitio bastante bien ubicado, tranquilo y perfecto para relacionarse y conocer a gente internacional...He de decir que no tengo nada negativo que comentar , excepto que el jabón de manos de los baños , a veces no va ???? o está vacío ???? y que las camas chirrían una barbaridad..

Single rooms are only capsules, not really rooms. Bathroom facilities are minimal. Sinks have no mirrors.

Si volviera a Berlín repetiría sin duda, la ubicación perfecta (a 20mins a pie o menos de los sitios turísticos y a 1min de tranvía y metro), tiene cocina (con microondas y nevera) y taquillas gratis y el personal encantador y paciente.
